This part-time course qualification is designed to increase learners’ awareness and understanding of behaviour that challenges and its effects.

By completing this qualification, learners will develop in-depth knowledge of behaviour that challenges which could support progression onto other appropriate qualifications and into relevant employment in the education and health and social care sectors.

In order to achieve this qualification learners must successfully complete 4 mandatory units;

  • Understand behaviour that challenges
  • Understand how to support positive behaviour
  • Understand the importance of effective communication and the management of behaviour that challenges
  • Understand the role of reflection and support for those involved in incidents of behaviour that challenges

Entry Requirements top

There are no formal entry requirements, but candidates should be prepared to write assignments and commit to independent study.  Experience of the health and social care or educational sectors is desirable however the course can also be accessed by those interested in progressing into work in these fields. The content of this programme would also support a CPD opportunity for those working within the relevant sectors.

Assessment top

The course is assessed by your assessor using either an online platform or building a portfolio of evidence using a range of assessment methods such as written assignments or professional discussions.

Professional Opportunities top

This qualification provides progression into further Level 2 and 3 qualifications in education and health and social care. Completion of this qualification would also support applications for roles such as educational support worker, early years educator, SEND support worker, care assistant in residential settings or supported living, healthcare support workers in community and primary care environments and healthcare assistants in acute health environments.
