This programme has been designed to provide an engaging and stimulating introduction to the world of performing arts. Delivered in partnership with the Creative Seed dance and carnival company the award offers a choice of pathways for learners designed to provide programmes of study to suit individual needs. The programme is intended to inspire and enthuse learners to consider a career in the performing arts sector and is aimed at learners who have made a choice to focus their learning and career development in performing arts.

Learners will study the following mandatory units:

  • Unit 1: Individual Showcase

  • Unit 2: Preparation, Performance and Production

  • Unit 8: The Performing Arts Industry

  • Unit 9: Performance in Context

  • Unit 37: Performing Arts Enterprise

Pathways that are available include:

  • Acting

  • Dance

  • Production

  • Musical Theatre

  • Music Performance

The programme also provides opportunities for learners to focus on the development of learning and thinking skills, and English and mathematics knowledge in a performing arts context.

No formal qualifications are required.

Assessment top

There will be two externally assessed units, the remaining units are internally assessed.
