Our halls of residence, Dr Winterbottom Hall, comprises of 204 single bedrooms, all of which include FREE wifi, utility bills, cleaning and college gym membership. The rooms are available to marine and NHS students studying at the college, including those on short courses and taking exams.

The halls are conveniently situated on the College Campus, easily accessible to a wide range of local facilities in South Tyneside. Regular bus and Metro train connections are within a short walking distance, connecting to the Cities of Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham, and to Newcastle International Airport.

A member of staff & management are available 24 hours a day to assist students and provide support where required. The Halls Manager and the Duty Supervisors live on the campus.

Ensuite and standard rooms are available, further detail is provided below. 

Residents are required to provide their own duvets, pillows, bed linen, towels and toiletries. Bedding packs are available to purchase at the Halls for £25.00.

To book accommodation please complete a Booking Form and return to dwh@stc.ac.uk as soon as possible. We will then confirm your booking with a reference number. 

From August 2023 room fees will increase by £2.50 per night.  This is for standard and ensuite
