VTS personnel working in the UK: The MCA require refresher training to be undertaken at a maximum three-year interval. VTS Operator, VTS Refresher, or VTS Supervisor courses all count as refresher training for this three-year limit.
If your last VTS Operator, VTS Refresher, or VTS Supervisor was over three years ago, and you have exceptional circumstances you should contact the MCA to check if you can use this course for revalidation. Candidates who do not meet the above criteria will need to sit the five-day VTS Operator course to revalidate, please check with the college and MCA if in any doubt.
VTS Personnel working outside of the UK: Please contact your competent authority to check the rules regarding how often VTS Refresher training should be taken.
This course is continuously assessed to the criteria set by the MCA. Candidates will receive constructive feedback during debriefs after each exercise.
