CACHE L2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness

OVERVIEW

This qualification aims to raise awareness of mental health and a range of mental health conditions. This qualification is designed for any learner that wants to raise their awareness of mental health and the problems that can cause mental ill health.

The qualification will help progress to further qualifications or employment within health and social care, or to develop within a current job role within health and social care.

Ten mandatory units are studied, including.

  • Understanding mental health
  • Understanding stress
  • Understanding anxiety
  • Understanding phobias
  • Understanding depression
  • Understanding postnatal depression
  • Understanding bipolar disorder
  • Understanding schizophrenia
  • Understanding dementia
  • Understanding eating disorders

This course is for 19+ learners. 

Experience of working in the health and social care sector is desirable however not essential, as the course could provide a continued professional development opportunity. There are no formal entry requirements, but candidates should be prepared to write assignments and commit to study away from college.

To be awarded the Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health, learners must successfully demonstrate their achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria for the 10 mandatory units.

Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health.
