Welder Approval Course

OVERVIEW

This course is excellent for anybody who was got previous welding experience and wants to further their career. This is a short course where the welding and testing will all be done on site at South Tyneside College.

Depending on the weld configuration, each test can cover a range of welding variables e.g different materials and thicknesses, plus welding positions.

The candidate should ideally have a City & Guilds 3268 Level 2 welding skills qual, or good welding experience from industry.

Welds would be carried out with a welding procedure specification (WPS) and the test weld would then be subject to inspection which will include visual and a bend or fracture test.

South Tyneside College are fully accredited as an approved TWI (The Welding Institute) training centre, this means that our lecturers can carry out the training and examination of all test pieces.

The progression from the BS4872 qualification can lead on to ASME IX / ISO 9606 weld test.

This course will run on a Tuesday (day/evening options available).
Training can be tailored to suit company/individual requirements and to match production requirements.
Enquiries should be made for further information.
