IMI Level 2 Diploma Motor Vehicle Accident Repair Paint
Overview
Candidates will complete the IMI Level 2 Diploma Motor Vehicle Accident Repair Paint.
Who is the qualification for? This Level 2 Diploma in Accident Repair Paint is for anyone developing a career in the motor industry. This practical qualification demonstrates candidates skills on the job and in their own workplace showing that they meet national standards for automotive workers.
The structure and assessment strategy has been produced by the Institute of the Motor Industry, who are the Sector Skills Council for the Automotive Industry.
There is a minimum requirement of grade 4 in maths or English and grade 3 in the other.
Alternatively successful completion of Level 1 Diploma at a good level of ability and attendance.
The course is portfolio based and is assesed by observations of practical tasks carried out to a satisfactory standard, and by unit based knowledge questions at the end of each unit.
Successful completion of the Level 2 Diploma can lead to a place on the Level 3 Diploma in Vehicle Accident Repair (Paint), or if the candidate has a permanent work placement then possibly a full Level 2/3 apprenticeship route.
For students aged 16-18 who have not yet achieved a grade 4 in Maths or English, these subjects will be included in your timetable along with your main course. Improving your skills in Maths and English is essential, as these qualifications open doors to further study and career opportunities.

All 16-18 students must study maths and/or English as part of their main study programme, there is no option to study maths and/or English on its own.
