OVERVIEW
The manufacturing and engineering sector is growing both locally and nationally, and is a government priority area.
There is currently a skills gap in the market for machinists and CNC programmers.
Salaries within machining and advanced manufacturing can range from £25-£35K depending on the industry role, and £30-£40K for Engineers.
This programme covers the fundamental skills and knowledge common to all machining engineering practices, but is particularly geared towards developing skills to work towards a career as a machining, design and cnc programming
This programme enables learners to acquire engineering competencies in realistic, sheltered and controlled environment workshops. This will then enable a safe progression into the workplace / employment.
This programme focuses on practical skills and knowledge, where learners will gain practical experience and understanding of mechanical and electrical systems including machining, motors, gearboxes, pumps, electrical & electronic circuits, and modern cutting edge manufacturing processes and equipment such as CAE CNC and 3D Printing.
