City and Guilds Diploma Level 1 Beauty

This qualification is intended to provide an understanding of the sector and the vocational skills and knowledge required at level 1 standard. It is an introduction to the beauty sector and provides an awareness of the range of job opportunities and work settings with in the industry.

During this course all aspects of colouring and cutting will be covered, including:

102: Presenting a Professional Image
006: Skin care
007: Hand care
106: Basic make-up application
109: Provide basic manicure treatment
113: Follow health and safety in the salon

Studying with us means practical, hands-on workshops, group sessions, expert guest speakers, visits to
local employers, wellbeing drop-ins, chill out time … the list goes on.
As part of the course, you will also take part in an external work placement to help you develop your
confidence and skills to stand out from the crowd.

The assessments for the qualification require the candidates to undertake:
• Practical tasks which will be observed
• Knowledge and understanding assignments

Successful completion will allow progression to:
Level 2 Hairdressing
Level 2 Barbering
Level 2 Beauty
