City and Guilds Diploma – Introduction to the Hairdressing Sector Level 1 (16-18)
OVERVIEW
This qualification is intended to provide an understanding of the sector, and the vocational skills and knowledge required at level 1 standard.
It is an introduction to the hairdressing sector and provides an awareness of the range of job opportunities and work settings within the industry and will enable candidates to make informed decisions regarding career paths in this exciting and vibrant industry.
During this course, all aspects of colouring and cutting will be covered, including:
- 101: Intro to the hair sector
- 102: Presenting a Professional Image
- 103: Styling Women’s hair
- 003: Shampoo and condition
- 004: Plaiting
- 005: Creating image using colour
- 113: Follow health and safety in the salon
- 114: Salon Reception
- 115: Working with others in the hair sector
- 215: Style and dress hair
- 217: Art of Colouring
This course is taught using a mixture of practical and theory lessons.
No entry requirements.
The assessments for the qualification require the candidates to undertake:
- Practical tasks which will be observed
- Knowledge and understanding assignments
Kit will be provided. Work experience is necessary.
For students aged 16-18 who have not yet achieved a grade 4 in Maths or English, these subjects will be included in your timetable along with your main course. Improving your skills in Maths and English is essential, as these qualifications open doors to further study and career opportunities.
Our teaching team will work with you to help you achieve the grades you need, building confidence in these key areas to support your future success.
All 16-18 students must study maths and/or English as part of their main study programme, there is no option to study maths and/or English on its own.
