Career College North East, our unique, accelerated vocationally-driven provision for 14 to 16 year-olds, boasts great links to the region’s employers and puts learners in the fast track to the career they want, two years ahead of their peers. Students join us to study a range of GCSEs at St Wilfrid's RC College, and at South Tyneside College students study engineering, advanced manufacturing, marine and computer science - all fast-evolving employment sectors with highly-paid jobs for those with relevant skills. From September 2017 and after completion of the Career College pathway, students can progress into maritime studies through a new partnership with world-renowned South Shields Marine School. Here, they will continue their studies at the marine school and specialise in either a nautical and engineering career pathway. On all Career College courses, learners gain by studying their chosen specialism at South Tyneside College for two days a week, with three days at our partner school, Ofsted rated ‘outstanding’ St Wilfrid’s RC College in South Shields, learning the core academic curriculum of English language, English literature, mathematics, science and humanities subjects.
