Overview top

This course will be completed via distance learning; initial contact will be made to the college and a learning pack supplied to complete. Contact will be made with your assessor via e-mail or telephone. On enrolling you will be given a completion date for final submission of the work towards your qualification. This course will provide the learner with an understanding of sensory loss, person-centred approach and knowledge of the importance of relevant communication kills when working with individuals with this disability.

Entry Requirements top

Experience of the health and social care sector is desirable however the course can also be accessed by those interested in the field of Health and Social care or where the content supports a CPD opportunity. There are no formal entry requirements but candidates should be prepared to write assignments and commit to study away from college.

Assessment top

A portfolio of evidence will be produced to meet the learning outcomes expected in the qualification, these will be returned to college via e-mail by the candidate and feedback will be returned in the same way.

Completion of this course provides a continued professional development opportunity and could lead to further study within the health and care sector. It could also support progression within a current work role within the sector and could contribute to promotion opportunities.
