Overview top

This course will be completed via distance learning; initial contact will be made to the college and a learning pack supplied to complete. Contact will be made with your assessor via e-mail or telephone. On enrolling you will be given a completion date for final submission of the work towards your qualification. This qualification will allow learners to know about healthy eating for children and young people. Successful completion will show that learners can identify healthy eating principles and factors influencing the food choices for children and young people.

Entry Requirements top

Experience of the childcare and education sector is desirable however the course can also be accessed by those interested in the field of childcare and education or where the content supports a CPD opportunity. There are no formal entry requirements but candidates should be prepared to write assignments and commit to study away from college.

Assessment top

A portfolio of evidence will be produced to meet the learning outcomes expected in the qualification, these will be returned to college via e-mail by the candidate and feedback will be returned in the same way.

Professional Opportunities top

Completion of this course provides a continued professional development opportunity and could lead to further study with the chosen sector. Potential employment opportunities within a school or early years setting may include a lunch time supervisor or a support assistant when alongside alternative qualifications.
