Health and social care is a diverse sector which covers many aspects of caring for an individual and their families.

This short course provides an ideal taster for those who may be new to the sector or new to the world of work.  It aims to develop an understanding of health and social care, allowing people to gain the knowledge and understanding required to progress further into health and social care education or apply it to a work based setting.

It is accessible to learners of all ages who may want to understand more about working in health and social care.

The following subjects will be covered;

- Introduction to health and social care and the role of the health and social care worker.

– Equality, diversity and rights in health and social care.

– Communication in health and social care.

– Safeguarding in health and social care.

– Person centred care.

– Guest speaker (a local health and social care worker) and evaluation of course
