This qualification is for candidates who want to work as electricians in the building services engineering sector.
The course has been designed for candidates wanting a viable entry route into the electrical industry. This qualification provides an understanding of electrical principles including AC theory, single phase and three phase power systems, all to the latest 17th Edition Wiring Regulations 2008 (2015). It also covers Health and Safety in Building Services, Electrical Installation Technology, Installation of Wiring Systems and Enclosures and Communication with other Building Services.
The course also allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the electrotechnology sector.
GCSE grade D (3) in maths or English may be acceptable based on your prior experience.
Assessment is by a combination of workshop practical and classroom based theory, with additional online based assessment. Within these assessments it also includes elements of health and safety.
Successful completion of the C&G 2365 Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation will allow progression to the C&G Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation. Alternatively learners could also progress onto an electrical apprenticeship.
This course allows candidates to progress into employment, although not as a fully qualified electrician.
