Overview top

The course has been designed for apprentices in the electrical industry. This qualification provides an understanding of Fundamental Principles and Environment Technologies, Principles of Electrical Science, Fault Diagnosis and Rectification, Inspection, Testing and Commissioning and Electrical System Design.

This is a 2-year part time day release programme at college, with a third year NVQ appilcation in the workplace to become a qualified electrician.

You must be an apprentice electrician to enrol on this course.

It would be desirable to have GCSE grade C in Maths and English, and a C&G 2365 Level 2 in Electrical Installation.

Assessment top

Assessment is by a combination of workshop practical and classroom based theory with additional online based assessments. Within these assessments it also includes elements of health and safety.

Professional Opportunities top

On successful completion of the C&G 2357 Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation, learners can progress to the workplace to complete an NVQ to become a fully qualified electrician.
