The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production is designed as an extension to our BTEC Level 3 90-Credit Diploma in Creative Media Production. This one year course increases the course to make it the equivalent to three A-Levels.

The learners will build upon the core foundation skills that they developed in the 90-Credit Diploma. On this course the learners get the opportunity to work with actual clients and produce media provided by a working brief. Learners will also work on their own individual project created from their own ideas as well as produce a short documentary, TV and Radio Advertisements, a radio show, magazine/newspaper layouts and many more.

This course is designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge to work with and produce a range of different media. It will provide them with the chance to develop their own creativity and the opportunity to work in work-based environment, while preparing them for Higher Education or employment.

Entry Requirements top

90-Credit Diploma in Creative Media Production along with a minimum of four A*-C Grade GCSE or equivalents including English Language.

Assessment top

The course is broken down into units which are assessed through a number of assignments set across the year. The assignments are a mixture of practical and written/theory based.

Professional Opportunities top

On completion of this course, learners have the opportunity to progress to Higher Education and degree level courses where they could fully specialise in a chosen media sector. Learners who produce particularly impressive work could even move to work directly into the media industry itself.
