Our Level 3 programme in Creative Media Production has been designed to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to progress to degree level or into employment within the media sector. It provides those with an interest in the media to explore, develop and test their creativity while working towards a qualification which is stimulating and also demanding.

Over the course of the year learners will work on a variety of different specialist units that will help build the core knowledge and skills to make a variety of media products. Learners will have the opportunity to produce, short films and TV shows, Stop-Motion and 2D Animation, Radio Shows and Dramas, Articles and layouts for magazines and newspapers and many more.

It has been designed for learners to develop their skills no matter what media sector they wish to specialise on in the future. So if you desire to pursue a career as a journalist, radio presenter or film director, this course will help you to take your first steps towards your chosen career.

Entry Requirements top

A minimum of four A*-C grade GCSEs (or equivalent) including English Language. Alternatively a full BTEC level 2 qualification in Creative Digital Media Production or related area.

Assessment top

The course is broken down into units which are assessed through a number of assignments set across the year. The assignments are a mixture of practical and written/theory based.

Professional Opportunities top

Learners have the opportunity to progress onto the second year of the course to achieve an Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production. Some learners may also progress into employment in the media sector via apprenticeships.
